Missing someone can sit in the chest all day. The verse comes first. An evening prayer follows. They keep you company. They do not explain the person away.
From the Qur’an
۞وَأَيُّوبَ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرۡحَمُ ٱلرَّـٰحِمِينَ
And Job, when he cried unto his Lord, (saying): Lo! adversity afflicteth me, and Thou art Most Merciful of all who show mercy.

This can be a simple way to say that a hard season is allowed to hurt.
A short prayer
أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ
We have entered the evening and the dominion belongs to Allah. Praise is for Allah. There is no god but Allah alone, without partner.
